Help judge the Irish Whiskey Awards 2018 - "Session 1" Blind Tasting/Judging @ Holy Smoke, Mardyke

Session 1 @ Holy Smoke Bar, Mardyke Complex, Sheare's Street

Cork Whiskey Society members have again been invited to take part in judging the 2018 Irish Whiskey awards. Please note it is FREE to take part in this event and we encourage you, as a member, to judge at least one category. 

We will carry out the first of two blind tasting/judging sessions in the Holy Smoke Bar at the Mardyke complex, Sheare's Street on Saturday week 25th August. Expert knowledge is not necessary - quite simply pick your favourite from a selection of whiskey samples.

Spaces are limited and we encourage members to attend at least one session  (Session 2 will be Thursday 6th September @ Rearden's from 5:30pm). There are a number of whiskey categories which will be divided over the two sessions:

• Best Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey
  
• Best Irish Cask Strength Whiskey
  
• Best Irish Single Cask Whiskey
  
• Best Irish Single Grain Whiskey
  
• Best Irish Blended Whiskey - RRP €60 or more
  
• Best Irish Single Malt Whiskey - 13 Yrs & older
• Best Irish Blended Whiskey - RRP under €60
• Best Irish Single Malt Whiskey - 12 Yrs & under
  
• Best Overall Irish Whiskey
  

Further categories relate to Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year, International Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year, and Munster, Leinster, Connacht and Ulster Whiskey Bar's of the Year. We will communicate more on these categories in due course.
